"It's not easy to see people in need and not try to find a way to help. So I try my best to be a helping hand in any way possible. We all need help in some kind of way and if more people carried and acted on that sentiment the world would be a better place."

"I want to bring back these things to the community which I think is missing. I love to help others, so HOW is a way for me to show my contribution to the community and display my appreciation. I like to be a helping hand for others and a person that will pull you up if you need it. We all needed help growing up in these rough environments. I just hope that we can make some change in people lives and expose them to other things so they could see that there is more out there for us."

Mark Weeks
Vice President
Born and raised in North Philadelphia. He has always embodied community. At an early age he found the desire to secure genuine friendships and brotherhood. He also recognized the need for mentorship. He made the wise decision to share what he has learned with his neighbors young and old. Mark has been an upstanding example of paying it forward and never forgetting where he came from. He finds pride in volunteering, fundraising and mentoring to help his neighborhood thrive. Surely together, Hands of Woodstock can go further than attempting to make a difference alone. Mark is grateful to have life long friends who work collectively to be the difference they want to see in North Philadelphia.

I remember growing up and a lot of the times I would subconsciously fall into the mindset that the neighborhood I see is the whole world. Although I traveled outside of my it often and was blessed to have family across the city and out of outside of the city and I knew that my neighborhood wasn't the world, but the crux is once you are back in it, it's easy to slip back into that mindset and forget about everywhere else. So I'm trying my best to show them different and keep them focused on wanting to dwell in those spaces more.
